Barty thought it was more than just a quick fuck between two friends. So hearing about James Potter broke him. He knew it showed on his face so he covered it up quickly and teased Regulus, before making some two-bit exuse and running Dorcas' dorm- she always helps...

it's been so long since i rewatched the Unsaid Emily episode of JATP but holy, shit does it still hit so fucking hard

when luke's hiding in the bushes outside of his parents' house because he misses them- misses his mother- and regrets the way he ran off, but was too proud to apologize. and maybe too full of guilt and regret to come back before he did what he set out to do.

but he missed her and she missed him and he wrote an entire song about it and his band sang it together and im just 😭😭😭😭

maybe after his band played at the orpheum he would have gone back. maybe he could have gone back and said "look! i did it! im sorry for leaving but i did it! can i come home now?"

maybe that would have been enough to start mending the gap

maybe they would have had a chance to play more than one song, and maybe the second would have been Unsaid Emily, and maybe she would have known. maybe she would have been standing by the door waiting for him to come back.

but he dies, and the song is lost for twenty years, and his mother never knew that he was so sorry or that he even thought about her after running away, not until julie.

he gets the chance to finally say everything he always meant to say to her, he gets to see his mother read his old words and read the love in them.

watching tua s4 knowing fully how its going to disappoint me rn and something that keeps bothering me is just how awful it is that they dont show what happens during the 6 year time skip.

like in season 2 we get to see an abridged version of how everyone got to where they are. this allowed for me as viewer to at least undertsand the reasoning behind the siblings' actions and conflicts. but in season 4 there is just none of that.

instead we only get to see the after of the timeskip. Whatever bits we do hear abt the time in between are extremly limited because they are things that are told to us from biased/flawed/one-sided perspectives. I as a viewer do not get a clear idea of why any of the 8 charcters of the main cast change the way they do becuase i am never shown how this change ocurred. its more i am told things and have to accept because of the 6 year gap.

lila and diego's strained marriage is actually i think the only they showed without telling to an extent. but it still would have also been nice to see thier struggles transitioning to suburbia and would also aid me to better understand why neither of them tried to find an adequate balance in the 6 years. also like why is diego working as a delivery driver? in my mind it makes more sense for him to be a mediocre private investgator or something like that? idk just some more context behind the tension and thier decsions (especially lila dear god dont even get me started) would have been wonderful

viktor's journey to Canada and his distancing from the others sounded interesting and i would have loved to see that on screen. he clearly is unable to form long lasting intamate relationships and showing his life in the time gap would have been a great way to show his journey of accepting the loss of sissy.

allison was definitely hit hard by the lack of explanation. i understand the scheduling issues with raymond's actor but it truly was a heavy blow to season 3 allison actions when they just said he left with no other explanation. most of her conflicts in season 3 were motivated by the loss of claire and raymond and you are telling me she just lost 50% of that a year afterwards? and like this doesnt get mentioned until episode 3??

i actually enjoyed klaus's shift to a risk averse person and it did make sense to me after losing his immortality to become more aware of not only his but his loved ones mortality. the biggest glaring issue is the one everyone has talked about: the lack of dave. i think if they had shown klaus trying to find info on dave and/or even visiting his grave in the timeskip it would been fine with me that he wouldn't mention dave that much. but the dog tags being on screen and him not saying anything is actually inasne??? also it sounds like there was definitely more to his sobriety than what they have told sad that we didnt get to see that storyline....

everyone has said thier piece on how luther just mentioning sloane and then no other explanation is actually awful. like a simple flashback fo luther searching and finding sloane living a different life would have been better than them giving us nothing💀

five oh where to even begin.... first of all how tf does a person who isnt even in thier 20s even get a gig at the cia. i know they said some bullahit abt five being a part of a relative young group/recruit (cant remember the exact wording) but like a person who is younger than 19 getting a job at the cia is a bit much. also i actually refuse to belive that five wouldn't have figured out his boss was part of the keepers there is just no way. after the handler and reggie i refuse to belive that five would lose his suspicion towards authority figures. i think the only authority figure he has ever listened to was the founder version of himself and even that took time. like if you want me to believe that bs then show me how five turned his brain into mush in the 6 year time skip. either that or show how me his loneliness in those six year because from what i have right now five worked at the cia and that is it nothing else. like from what i have been told by the show nothing else happended to him besides working. which if thier implication is that he was only working and drifted apart from his siblings that message was not clear enough to me as viewer and would have been alot clearer if i was shown such as thing.

i love the dynamic you give to rosekiller. its like, theyre such individuals..but theyre so unified. barty is so average and normal on the outside. he flirts and talks all casual and doesnt have a single worry..and then theres evan. little freak is digging holes in the backyard and planting animal bones he found in the woods. he kinda just stares at you and nobody really knows what his voice sounds like (he would be mistaken as a girl if he spoke, thats how feminine his voice is. and he uses such feminine speech patterns).

i love them because barty brings out the normal in evan, and evan brings out the weird in barty. barty is teaching evan how to socialize in the daytime while evan is teaching barty (mumbling incoherently) how to while poking at his teeth in the night.

oh i feel like standing up and cheering.. YES!! you get it!!! you've touched on something i really enjoy, which is the difference in perceived normal-ness (😭) between them? to me, they're both equally freakish INSIDE, but they socialize differently...

my barty is still a transgressive deviant bastard, but i think it's a crucial part of canon that the wizengamot is so shocked at the accusation against him. he breaks more rules than anyone, but he also knows how to Play Ball when it matters. + i think there's also a lot of social stratification within Slytherin... regulus is the de-facto Heir of House Black, and even though he's kind of cold and unsociable he would still have a decent amount of slytherin clout. barty is top of their class, he's reggie's best friend, he's charming, he probably sleeps around... they're both basically doing fine

meanwhile the rosier twins are these haunted tubercular oddities who were homeschooled up until 3rd year, barely speak to anyone else, playing with bones (sidenote: androgynous effete evan my beloved). ESSENTIALLY: evan 1000% gets the "loony lovegood" treatment from the other slytherins!!!! evan is, of course, too busy dissecting flobberworm carcasses to even Notice or Care

i'm just saying that I think it would be entertaining for the rest of the school to watch Barty Crouch Jr™���, handsome and generally well-liked slytherin, just fall ASS OVER TEAKETTLE for the weirdest fucking creature on hogwarts grounds 😭... barty is tagging at evan's heels, carrying his books, obediently doting after him, all while evan barely registers his presence. it's just MESMERIZING to watch that dynamic play out super publicly in class.

and I get the reasoning, its scary. even if the whole disorder's thing being faking another disorder/illness/trauma wasnt doing it, fakeclaimers love to abuse the word until it loses its meaning.

so as someone who actually has it Id like to clear some stuff up

first of all, this doesnt mean Im faking any of my conditions, maybe not all of them are entirely accurate, but thats because I havent been able to find disorders that better describe it. Ive researched each of my conditions religiously, and talked most of them with my psychologist, who we already agreed I shouldnt get a medical diagnosis for because it could literally ruin my future where I live.

we're not "transabled", yes a portion of our community unfortunately does swing that way, but thats because thats the only community that wont immedietly flip its shit when you say "hey I dont actually have this disorder but I feel like I should have it" and thats so fucking sad. Im very anti-transabled and similar things. hell, even I was terrified of bringing it up until now.

its not a delusion, not for me, at least. I know I dont have the disorders I feel like I should have. so its not a mental equivelant of BIID. most of us feel that way because we're neglected, or feel we should have been affected worse, and some part of us grips to the false fact that maybe if we were hurt worse people would actually care, even if deep down we do know better.

it is incredibly rare. rarer than plurality even. so most fakeclaimers who immedietly resort to blaming munchausens for disabled people they claim are cringe, guess what!! that shits even rarer than whatever bullshit you claim cringy teens are faking.

if you believe someone is faking a disorder, let them!! ignore them!!! personally Id let 1000 people get away with faking shit than fakeclaim someone who actually has that disorder you claim theyre faking. and similar to delusions, it often makes us 'get into character' even harder, and just ruins our mood and makes actually disordered people around us insecure as well. there is no 'right' way to be disordered.

me, personally? Ive never gone as far as to fake a disorder, but god damn did I have the urge to and still do. I would be that whole 'he has every mental illness' meme if I didnt have as much self control as I did. but honestly would you even know if I did? “What’s wrong, amor?” He asks you. In truth, Regulus knew full well what was wrong, but he wanted to give you the freedom to rant to him. To have someone be there for you, to listen and to reassure. “Did something happen?” 

You’re fully frowning when you look at him. “I got a failing grade,” you tell him, handing over your test paper. 

A glance at the paper tells Regulus what exactly he needed to know, you’re being to harsh on yourself. An A(cceptable) was not a failing grade, sure it was a huge different to your test marks but you’re only human and you’re bound to skip up once in a while. 

He could only hope you know that. 

He doesn’t tell you that this wasn’t a failing grade. You both knew that your grades were passable at best, it just wasn’t up to your standards; so he listens to you instead. 

“I’m so mad at myself,” you murmur, “why do I even try when this is the best I could do?” 

“You did your best right?” A nod from you has him continuing. “That’s all that matters, love. You made a mistake this once and that’s fine, everyone makes mistakes it’s a part of living. And for what it’s worth, this grade doesn’t change a thing, you’re still the smartest girl I know.”

Am I the only person that hated s4 of tua?

Look, i am a big fan of the series, and I was so happy when the new season came out.

And s3 was a bit long for me, in the sense that some scenes were boring, so I wasnt too unhappy with a shorter season.

But what was this

Spoilers for The umbrella Academy season 4!

First of all, the whole Five and Lila relationship.

They are platonic friends, like siblings. Who thought it would be a fun idea to make them romantic all of a sudden?

"Oh, but they got stuck in time for 7 years its only natural"

You have to be shitting me.

I've been celibate for over 7 years, you think I'd date my brothers WIFE if we spend time tgt for those years? No. Fuck no.

It doesnt even seem to click with Five's personality, because he's so insanely loyal and caring towards his family. He would not do that, if we were to follow his personality from s1 to 3.

This brings me to Ben.

I have never been the biggest sparrow Ben fan, I'll admit that. I've always been an umbrella Ben fan and sometimes I wished sparrow Ben was more like him.

So you can imagine, I was happy when he started to appear more caring for Jeniffer.

Until they totally switched up his character.

Yes, he was influenced by the bond (which reminds me of the whole nesting situation of the last episode, which I must admit was very entertaining) which made him more loving yadaydaydaya. But everyone shows their love in a different way, sparrow Ben' type of loving is in no way shape or form sweettalking and grossly cutesy forms of affaction.

You might think so (the writers apparently did) but I surely disagree.

So his personality was, as you might guess, also out of the window.

His talking brings me to my next point. The dialogue.

I'm not sure if its just me, but it was so.goddamn.messy.

It was no dialogue, it was just a bomb of one liners aiming for nothing.

It had no feeling, no personality. Its as if the writers saw the one liners we liked, pasted them into an ai engine, and let it spit out 100 new ones to fill the movie.

I would like to give specific examples, but it happened all.the.time. If you dont believe me, watch the last episode. The only in character person was Victor (even though he's not my bestie, I loved that they stayed true to his character) with wanting to save his siblings, standing up to their father, wanting to keep his peace but always choosing to help his siblings no matter how much they hurt him in the past.

He was the only one who felt like the same person as the other season. Even Reggie was a goddamn mess (and thats something to say about that uptight bastard)

Now this part is purely personal. But the plot? The scenes? The entire construction was such a mess.

First of all. 7 years in that station? 7years? Youre telling me that super smart old man Five didnt think to look at those lines first before stepping in that train? You think "I must know everything and enything about everything and anything" Five didnt look up, took a good glance at those letters and knew. "Mhmm. Thats that weird writing my father used. How bout I try to TRANSLATE it BEFORE i step on this mystery train?"

If you think him stepping on a random train, not even looking at the map he picked up is in charcater? Sincerely, quit shitting my dick cuz no way you think that.

And then him giving up on finding his siblings? He was in an apocalypse for what? 50 years? And he always kept the stupid eye, thinking it might save his siblings. And now, here he is, giving up on them cuz he' a lil lost in daddy's train station?

Babes, you cant be serious.

Im aware that this post is very opinionated, and perhaps negative, but thats just how itll be. But if you feel offended by anything here, I do apologise. I love the series aswell, but his season, felt more like a 12 year old' followup story of season 3 (and that is not to say that 12 yo' cant write, cuz some of them r amazing, but you get the idea) and I cant believe they actually funded this.

And that is not to start about the decisions they made. Ben making them drink the marigold? Five not just going back to that moment if he could time travel (which he coulve bcz him and Lila went back to the "present" which is 7 years earlier than when they were stuck). Then stop them from drinking the Sake/Marigold. Merging the marigold with Jennifer and everything is fixed? Bcz they didnt have their powers anymore?

Either way

I might follow up on this, I might not.

But I do hope that some share my opinion, even if many dont.

Regulus Black absolutely loves his name. I mean who wouldn't, he's named after a freaking star. And in Regulus' opinion, it's the most beautiful star in the world. Although Sirius Black would strongly disagree.

Regulus, although he loves his name, hates it at the same time. Is that possible? Maybe not but Regulus doesnt care, he loves and hates his name and no one can change his mind.

Regulus has told a lot of people he hates his name, if you count Evan Rosier, Barty Crouch jr and Pandora Lovegood as a lot like Regulus does. And even they think Regulus is barking mad usually giving him reasons why when it comes out in a conversation.

Regulus tunes them out.

When asked why Regukus hates his name

'Would you like to be named after your great uncle who followed a noseless, sadistic blood purist?' Is always his response. And whoever asked this question would look at Regulus like he was mad because everyone at hogwarts thinks he follow that madman, not many people know that Regulus ran away to the Potter that summer.

Regulus would walk away from them.

Another thing Regulus hates about his name is the lack of creative nicknames.

All Regulus hears is 'Reg' and 'Reggie' and he is tired of the lack of creativity.

So obviously when James Potter suddenly called him 'lulu' in potions class while their partnering one day, Regulus' heart skips a beat or two.

'Good morning lulu' James Potter says as he all but struts into potions class, with Sirius, Remus and Peter following close behind, and in Regulus' opinion looks like a walking wet dream.

*Regulus would deny this fact till his death though.*

Regulus looks up from his book and raises a lazy eyebrow at the boy who has come to a stop at his table "lulu?, couldn't you come up with something better?"

"Merlin James, lulu? seriously?" Sirius says from his spot beside James

James, like the unbothered idiot he is, just shrugs and sits in the chairs beside Regulus.

Regulus immediately gets a whiff of James' body soap. Is that Lavender? "And what might I ask are you doing here Potter"

"Well, I shit at potions and your the best in the class so I thought we could partner up for this class, and if your willing maybe for the rest of the year?" James potter, like the shameless buffoon he is, smiles at Regulus and this makes Regulus loose all sense of reasoning for 3.5 seconds, and this gives James the impression that Regulus has agreed.

Regulus had but James didnt need to know that.

After regaining all sense of reasoning, Regulus look to Sirius to see what he had to say on the matter, just to find his brother making heart eyes at Remus John Lupin. The fucking werewolf. Regulus loved Remus, why wouldn't he the man loves all the books he loves and unlike his brother and friends, he was calm.

And to no surprise of Regulus, Remus was making heart eyes back at Sirius.

Regulus would have said something to them but professor slughorn chose that moment to walk in.

Regulus would never admit it but he enjoyed having James next to him during class.

Regulus would also never admit he loves it when James calls him lulu.
